The mountain guesthouse "Eiskarhütte", situated on 1700m at the Reiteralm in Pichl near Schladming, is where I live.
The rustic hut was built in 1971 and is today well-known for its good bourgeois cooking - not only in Austria, but far over the frontiers of the country.
Both in summer and in winter, this hut is one of the most popular places to stay in the region of Dachstein-Tauern. In summer, the Eiskarhütte can be easily reached by car from Pichl via a mountain road.
The ski resort Reiteralm has been a secret tip as training terrain of the ÖSV women team and the men as well, and after all work is done, the skiers are to be found in the Eiskarhütte, to relax and gain new energy.
